Our Next Generation
31 March 2022
We were super proud this month to be involved in the opening of the upgraded parkour park at Paddington Recreation Ground, after much investment from @ActiveWCC . You can head to our social feed for some images of the day.
Not only was it an opportunity to highlight the importance of community sports in London, but also to engage the next generation of traceurs… and coaches.
Daniel began his journey into parkour at the age of 11, joining his first class at Parkour Generations in 2015. Coming from a background of rugby and jiu jitsu, parkour presented a completely different world of movement. From that point onwards parkour became engrained in his life and his talent and enthusiasm was spotted by coaches and community alike. Daniel was invited to join the Developing Athletes Programme (DAP) at PKGen London, followed shortly after by a full internship where he’s assisted with adult and youth classes, annual events and one-off workshops. He’s since graduated from both opportunities, has achieved his ADAPT Level 1 qualification and is now a fully fledged coach with us.
We’re incredibly proud of the progress that Daniel has made to become a qualified coach and loved seeing him step up and take charge of a wonderful group of first time traceurs, as a fully fledged representative of PKGen London!
Well done Daniel and congratulations to the staff and support team at @ActiveWCC .
